About Mel

Hey! I’m Mel (they/them), a neurodivergent, white, relationship anarchist and psychotherapist based in Los Angeles, CA. My work focuses on non-monogamous, LGBTQ+, trans, non-binary, and otherwise gender expansive individuals of all ages in any relationship format: family, couples, and larger constellations. I’ve been trained in a therapeutic modality called relational gestalt that prioritizes connection, embodiment, experimentation, and building awareness. I also integrate aspects of existential, parts work, and narrative therapy into my practice.

I graduated from Antioch University Los Angeles with a specialization in Applied Community Psychology. I have 9 years of experience with adolescents and young adults, 4 years with families, 2 years with pre-teens and couples, and 3 years with psychiatric survivors. In my free time, I help build alternatives to the police-involved mental health and bring those tools into my professional practice as well.

A member of the trans and kink communities, I am deeply committed to queer liberation, particularly given the expected political shifts in our country. I want to support you and your intimate connections as your shifting experiences impact your lives, relationships, difficulties, and fears as attacks on trans and gender-nonconforming individuals’ safety escalate in the years to come.

I enjoy cooking, baking, sci-fi/fantasy books, video games, and my three cats: Merlin, Haunter, and Gengar who will inevitably appear during our virtual sessions.
